Nightscape
This was taken in June 2023 in the small "ghost town" of Shaniko, OR. This was a single exposure.
This photo was taken in the "ghost town" of Rhyolite, NV. This is actually two exposures. My tripod was set up for the composition of the photo. One exposure was of the building and the other was of the Milky Way and then combined in PhotoShop.
Grain Silo in Eastern WA spring of 2022
On the Palouse. One of my first Milky Way photos. I had been past this location several times and thought it would work well as a Milky Way photo. The entire setup was planned from home using PhotoPills. This is a single exposure.
This is the Zion United Methodist Church near Harrington, Wa. This is a single exposure processed in PhotoShop. The steeple got lit up by an approaching car. The photo was taken in September 2023
This photo was taken from Bainbridge Island August 2nd, 2023 - the day after the Super Moon. It is exposed for the cityscape and a separate exposure for the moon. Both are at the same focal length so the moon was actually this size compared to the city. Everything was processed in PhotoShop.
This photo was taken in September 2023 in the ghost town of Molson, WA. The original photograph had no light on in the buildings or foreground. I "turned the lights on" in PhotoShop.
“Country”
The photo was taken in Eastern WA in May 2023. These are called "bins". I was attracted to the different angles, colors and the dramatic clouds.
This photo was taken in May 2023. The dynamic clouds is what makes this photo. One of the things about this particular location is that this building was truly all by itself. Quite often there will be an abandoned building but other more modern buildings will be near by. The photo is a panorama consisting of three stacked horizontal photos. One for the foreground, one for the building and one for the sky.
This photo was taken in June 2023 near Washtucna, WA. I have driven by this windmill quite often and on this particular day the Sun was setting and the clouds were reflecting that light.

Clem Schoolhouse in Clem, OR. This photo was taken mid afternoon and PhotoShop was used to darken it and turn the lights on. This was the first of the photos taken of the Clem Schoolhouse.
This is the second photo of the Clem Schoolhouse. It was taken shortly after the previous photo. This shows most closely what the actual lighting conditions were.

Day To Night
I ran across a YouTube series by Jamie R. Mathlin who took daytime photos and changed them to a nighttime look. This created an “artistic” look to the photo and is not intended to create an actual nighttime photo. This style allows me to create my own version of what I envisioned. Nothing was added to the photos. The original photo was only manipulated in PhotoShop by changing the exposure. I did remove what I thought were distracting items to improve the look of the photo.

This is a photo of the entrance to Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island, WA. It is a long exposure. I removed a land mass in the background of the photo. Photoshop was used for the processing.
This photo is of the Fisgard Lighthouse on Vancouver Island, BC. It was a 13 minute long exposure. I desaturated the blues and highlighted the remaining colors in Photoshop. The photo was taken in December 2022.
